Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-22 · Effective immediately
This Privacy Policy explains how FUSE ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, retains, and shares information about you when you use our dating application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using FUSE you agree to the practices described below.
Data Collected
We collect only what we need to run FUSE as a city-matched dating service. The categories of data we collect are:
Profile
The basics you provide during onboarding: your name, the neighborhood and city you live in, what you are looking for, and a short bio. Profile data is shown to other users inside the app.
Photos
Images you upload to your profile. Photos are scanned by a third-party content-moderation service (see Third-Party SDKs) before they are shown to other users, and the moderation result is stored alongside the photo.
Messages
Chat messages you send and receive inside matches. Message content is stored so it can be delivered to the other party in the conversation and so we can apply safety and moderation reviews.
Location
The neighborhood and city you select during onboarding, plus any check-ins you record at venues. We use this to surface people who share your city or neighborhood, and your recent check-ins. We do not collect continuous background location.
Age
Your date of birth, collected during onboarding to confirm you meet our minimum age requirement (see Age Gate) and to compute your age as displayed on your profile.
Purpose of Collection
We use the data we collect for the following purposes:
- Profile, photos, and bio — to create your account and present you to other users in the feed, swipe stack, match list, and chat.
- Neighborhood, city, and check-ins — to surface city-matched and neighborhood-matched profiles and to power the date-the-city experience.
- Messages — to deliver chat between matched users and to review conversations for safety violations (harassment, scams, illegal content).
- Photos and messages — to run automated and human content moderation that keeps the platform safe for everyone.
- Age — to verify eligibility at signup and to enforce our minimum-age policy.
- Aggregate, de-identified analytics — to understand how the app is used and to improve the product.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your profile or messages for advertising.
Retention & Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active so that FUSE can function normally — matches, messages, check-ins, and profile history need to persist between sessions.
If your account is inactive for an extended period, we may delete dormant accounts and their associated data after giving you notice, in line with our operational retention schedule.
You may request deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time (see User Rights). When deletion is requested, we permanently remove your profile, photos, messages, check-ins, swipes, and matches from our active systems within 30 days, and from backups within a further 90 days. Some records may be retained where we are required to do so by law (for example, tax or anti-fraud records), or where retention is necessary to resolve a safety or legal matter.
Third-Party SDKs
To run FUSE we rely on a small set of third-party services. Each one receives only the data it needs to do its job:
- Content moderation API (AWS Rekognition) — Used to scan uploaded photos and report content that violates our rules (nudity, violence, illegal symbols). Photo bytes are sent to the moderation service; the moderation label and confidence score are stored alongside the photo. We do not send raw photos for any other purpose.
- Analytics (Polsia) — First-party, anonymous page-view beacons served by Polsia.com. Used to understand aggregate traffic and improve the product. No personal identifiers are sent.
- Hosting & database (Polsia / Neon) — Our application runs on Polsia-hosted infrastructure, and our database is hosted on Neon (PostgreSQL). Both providers process encrypted data at rest in their managed environments.
We do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs, and we do not share your personal data with data brokers.
User Rights
You have the right to access, correct, and delete the personal data we hold about you. Specifically:
- Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — Ask us to correct inaccurate profile data (name, bio, neighborhood, photos).
- Deletion — Request full account deletion. After deletion, your profile, photos, messages, matches, swipes, and check-ins are removed as described in Retention & Deletion.
- Withdrawal of consent — Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email us using the address below. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.

Age Gate
FUSE is rated 17+ on the App Store. The 17+ rating reflects three facts about the service:
- FUSE is a dating app, and dating apps commonly sit in the 17+ age band on Apple's App Review guidelines rather than the universal 4+ band because of the social and personal nature of the interactions.
- Users self-declare their date of birth at onboarding. We require the date of birth to compute age, we reject signups that fall below our minimum age, and we store the birth date so we can re-verify if a user attempts to circumvent the gate.
- The app is not designed or marketed for children. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that an account belongs to someone below our minimum age, we delete the account and its data.
The 17+ setting is a deliberate, conservative choice: it ensures that App Store reviewers and parents can see at a glance that this product is intended for adults.
